I admit I had reservations. There were a couple of lower reviews due to failing units and I also wondered about how well low-voltage would work for my needs up here in my northern Alberta basement room. Well, my blanket works–and works wonderfully. After a few nights getting used to how potentially warm the blanket was, I now generally set the heat on just 2, and sometimes even 1 (but it goes up to 9, then HI). So, when I sleep now, it’s one sheet on top of me and just this blanket on top of that. Nothing else–and it’s winter as I write this. The blanket is light, soft, heats very evenly and I just can’t see ever going back to a high voltage blanket.

I just plain love this blanket.

I have bought another brand repeatedly. Why repeatedly? Because the heating system broke down within the first few weeks or months. I would go back to the store and get a replacement, a return. The more popular brands you find at stores just do not last. I started searching online and decided to try this one. So far, so good. But it has only been a week. The material is soft and flexible. The wires are not big and uncomfortable. It heats up fast. It certainly gets hot enough for me. We will see how long it lasts. But right now I am giving it 5 stars. I will update this review if anything changes.

This is a heavy blanket, plush and soft. The generous width drapes over the sides of the bed nicely and the weight keeps the blanket in place. Two odd things: one, the heated area is only down the middle, 36″ wide on a 54″ wide double mattress, nothing on the edges. Two, the plug is way off to the left side as you stand facing the foot, and slanted in that direction even farther. The cords are nice and long, so that might still work for most people.
