I am raising my rating from 4 to 5 stars after a few days with this.
One aspect of the design that had implications that were not obvious at first is the fact that the water reservoir catches water as the ice in the basket melts. This turns out to be important.
It means you can fill the reservoir with water (about 2 liters) and just leave it running.
After the basket fills up, it shuts off. If you use some of the ice, it runs some more. BUT… If you just leave it alone, the ice melts enough to lower the level and trigger ice-making again. Until it is full again.
In practice, this means you can just leave it running, even overnight, and come back to a basket full of ice.

First I must say…..I am very impressed with the capability of this machine! Cleaning and set up is simple. It is sturdy, sleek, easy to use and truly makes ice in approx 8-12 minutes. You have the ability to choose between 2 sizes…LG and SM sized cubes. (I have included a photo to show the size variation). The compressor is quiet while operating and the only real sound you hear is when the ice cubes drop into the tray. I look forward to putting this to great use this summer, through the holidays and get-togethers. Would be nice to take on a boating or camping trip- (RV), as it does require electricity. So far so good!! I buy sonic and Zaxby’s ice by the bag … at least 2 a week.
Read all of the instructions before you start.
When I started making ice it ran water for a minute or so and I was a little concerned. Not to worry ice started falling shortly after. The kids could not wait, like a good mom, I let them have the first scoop.
We started making ice about 5:30 pm yesterday and by 11:00 am today out ice bin in the freezer is full. Not to mention how much we have eaten.
Straight out of the bin it is the perfect soft ice. Out of the freezer it is hard, (same as the bagged ice after you freeze it) my recommendation is to fill your cup and leave it for about 10-15 mins and it will soften up some.

This is a great basic machine (we’ve had several other brands) its quiet and performs quite nicely. Its only drawback for you could be that it only makes one size but honestly, we never used the smaller sizes anyway. I perform as it says and it’s sure nice to not have to run out for extra ice all the time. We will be taking this in our RV once we are allowed to travel again! This item arrived a day earlier than promised so that was an extra bonus!

Makes terrific ice and lots of it when it was working. Then it just quit. I was disappointed because this was the best ice maker I have ever owned in terms of quantity and quality of ice. I wrote an email to the manufacturer, and they quickly volunteered to send another ice maker to me, without my even requesting it! I received the replacement yesterday. I have great hopes that the new unit will last longer than the 4 months the original one did because when it’s working the machine is simply without peer.
